Hozier, Kacey Musgraves among inaugural Zootown Music Festival headliners

The event will premiere in Missoula, Montana July 4th weekend

The inaugural Zootown Music Festival is to take place Friday, July 4th through Saturday, July 5th at the Missoula Fairgrounds in Missoula, Montana. Nestled in the shadows of five majestic mountain ranges, and among the confluence of the Clark Fork, Blackfoot, and Bitterroot rivers, Missoula, Montana’s first-ever major music festival will feature a lineup of 20+ performing artists including Hozier, Kacey Musgraves, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Mt. Joy, Lake Street Dive, Modest Mouse, Julien Baker & Torres and many more.

Produced by Always On, Knitting Factory Presents, and Shore Sound Entertainment in partnership with Destination Missoula and The University of Montana’s Entertainment Management program, Zootown will bring a world-class live music event to a vibrant city known for its exceptional culinary and craft brewery scene, historical landmarks and Indigenous roots, and easy access to natural wonders and outdoor adventures, with over 60,000 acres of wilderness just minutes from downtown. Half-day and full-day guided excursions in the area on the days leading up to and after the festival, as well as morning activities on show days, will be available as part of the festival’s partnership with GuideTime.

Presales start Thursday, November 21st at 10 am local time to local residents. Excursion packages will be available for the general sale on Friday, November 22nd, along with premium lodging offerings and RV and camping accommodations.

Aside from being the first-ever major music festival held in the city, Zootown will also mark Kacey Musgraves’ first festival headline performance in the state and will feature Hozier’s Montana festival debut. The festival will showcase the best of what Missoula and the state of Montana have to offer. Attendees will be treated to unforgettable performances and offerings from local restaurants, breweries and other vendors with Montana’s unmatched natural beauty serving as an epic backdrop. Visitors would be remiss not to take advantage of the many opportunities for outdoor activities and historical sightseeing within a stone’s throw of the festival grounds. Through a partnership with GuideTime, Zootown is offering for purchase half-day and full-day excursions on the days before and after the festival, including, biking, fishing, whitewater rafting, river tubing, trail rides, guided hiking and scenic walking tours and more. Morning activities on show days will also be available.

The Zootown Music Festival also benefits from the expertise and know-how brought to the event by Shore Sound Entertainment and Knitting Factory Presents. Shore Sound’s Jordan Wolowitz serves as the festival’s co-founder and talent buyer, with a proven track record in the live events space including co-founding Governors Ball and Sound On Sound (now Soundside) music festivals. Knitting Factory Presents’ 20+ year history in Missoula promoting live events alongside operating the Big Sky Amphitheater, brings immense value and insight to the planning of the festival.
