‘Landman’ starring Billy Bob Thornton becomes No. 1 Paramount+ Original of all time

The series has garnered 14.9 million global households

Landman, starring Oscar winner and Boxmasters frontman Billy Bob Thornton, has become the top Paramount+ original series or movie ever for the service, garnering 14.9 million households through its four weeks. MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios continue its red-hot streak with the top five originals on the service including 1923Tulsa King, Lioness, and the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill starring 1883, respectively.

From co-creators Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, Landman is set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas and is a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs. Based on the notable 11-part podcast Boomtown from Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly, the series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, that it’s reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics.
