George Birge shares ‘It Won’t Be Long’

The new single is available at country radio

After scoring two career No. 1’s last year with back-to-back chart-toppers, Records Nashville hitmaker George Birge knows a thing about watching unexpected dreams become reality. With the touching life ballad “It Won’t Be Long” as his next single at country radio, he turns his thoughts to the bigger picture.

Written by Birge with Joe Fox, Chase McGill, and Trannie Anderson, “It Won’t Be Long” lands like a heartfelt ode to blessings big and small, informed by the wisdom of the ages. With poignant lyrics about the stop-you-in-your-tracks moments of a simple but meaningful life, he traces a path toward real appreciation – one which leads across true love, challenges, and the surprises you never saw coming. Also produced by Fox, a delicate piano melody helps convey the sense of awestruck sincerity, with Birge’s smoldering vocal dialed down to a tender croon. Meanwhile, inspiring steel guitar and orchestral undertones sweep across a soul-feeding Country-Pop soundscape with a lump-in-your-throat reminder: “So buy the drink, steal the kiss, make the trip, take the risk, love hard as you can and just hold on / Cause life might be a lot of things / But it won’t be long.”

Further breathing life into the autobiographical release, Birge also delivers the Corey Miller-directed music video for “It Won’t Be Long,” featuring a special appearance from his sons, George James and Luke.

Next supporting Dylan Scott’s Country Till I Die Tour, Birge is billed for major 2025 music festivals including his debut at Stagecoach.
