The sold-out benefit concert brings more money for the flood victims
Over the weekend, Texas country chart-topper Jon Wolfe, in partnership with the legendary Gruene Hall and KNBT 92.1 FM, hosted Jon Wolfe and Friends: Hill Country Flood Relief Benefit. To do his part and bring relief to those affected by the recent flooding in Kerr County and the surrounding areas, Wolfe was joined by other Texas heavy hitters and fellow artists Tracy Byrd, Kevin Fowler, Roger Creager, William Beckmann, Radney Foster, Kelly Willis, Jake Worthington, Kylie Frey, Bleu Edmondson, Billie Jo Jones, Walker Montgomery, David Lewis, Clay Hollis, and Cody Hibbard for an evening of back-to-back acoustic performances. Raising over $115,000 in relief, highlights of the sold-out night included intimate song-swaps with storytelling between songs, an autographed guitar raffle, and a Juan Lobo Tequila tasting booth.
“Last night was a true testament to the heart of the hill country and the selfless people that live here and visit here. It was truly a special night for a much-needed cause. The impact of the catastrophic floods in Kerr County and surrounding areas has left such a massive need for help – I’m beyond thankful to have the opportunity to work with Gruene Hall and humbled by the amazing artists that gave of their time and talents,” Wolfe says.
Additionally, Wolfe announces his upcoming single “Tequila Cowboys” featuring Randy Rogers for August 22nd. “Tequila Cowboys,” an old western anthem steeped in Texas tradition, barrels in like a dusty rodeo trail. Wolfe and Rogers trade verses under a harmonica howl that conjures open plains and two‑step nights, all tied up in a toast to camaraderie and the cowboy way of life.
