Gov’t Mule reveals Mule-O-Ween 2025 theme

The Halloween tribute-theme shows return, honoring Aerosmith

The Mule train keeps on rolling. Acclaimed Grammy-nominated band Gov’t Mule, led by guitar legend, vocalist, songwriter and producer Warren Haynes, has revealed the theme for Mule-O-Ween 2025, marking the return of the band’s special Halloween tribute-themed shows since 2022. This year’s two-night celebration will take place Friday, October 31st, in Washington, DC, at the Warner Theatre, and Saturday, November 1st, in Philadelphia at The Met, honoring Aerosmith.

“Mule-O-Ween returns! Get ready for two nights filled with Sweet Emotion and plenty of deep cuts from one of rock & roll’s most iconic catalogs — reimagined, stretched out, and Mule-ified in ways only this band can deliver,” the band shares. “You know the drill: costumes, surprises, jams, and a full-throttle Halloween celebration. If you Dream On about the perfect Halloween soundtrack, this is it.”

The Mule-O-Ween shows will conclude Gov’t Mule’s Back In The Saddle Tour, which kicked off last week. The Back In The Saddle Tour finds Gov’t Mule – currently celebrating the 30th anniversary of their self-titled debut album – stopping in 29 cities throughout the East Coast and Midwest on their first big tour run since February 2024.

Tonight (Wed, Sept 3rd), Gov’t Mule also launches a series of co-headlining shows with longtime friends Tedeschi Trucks Band. The six-date run stops in Toronto, Saratoga Springs, Boston, Chicago, and Detroit over the next week and then reconvenes on October 11th for a special show in Macon, Georgia, the home of the Allman Brothers Band (which Haynes and Derek Trucks were both members of for decades each).

Gov’t Mule released their latest studio album, Peace…Like A River, via Fantasy Records, in 2023. The 12-song rock collection is highlighted by the singles “Dreaming Out Loud” featuring Ivan Neville and Ruthie Foster, “Same As It Ever Was” and “Made My Peace” and additional guest appearances from Billy F Gibbons, Billy Bob Thornton, and Celisse.

Since releasing Peace…Like A River, Warren Haynes issued his fourth solo album, Million Voices Whisper, via Fantasy Records in 2024. The self-produced, soulful blues-rock collection – Haynes’s first solo album in nearly a decade – features the singles “This Life As We Know It” and “Real Real Love” as well as multiple appearances from Derek Trucks and Warren’s Last Waltz Tour co-stars Lukas Nelson and Jamey Johnson on the single “Day of Reckoning.”

On September 12th, Haynes, who partnered with Gibson earlier this year for his first signature guitar, the Gibson Warren Haynes Les Paul Standard, will release The Whisper Sessions, a nine-song, digital-only collection of stripped-down versions of songs off Million Voices Whisper, including the singles “These Changes” featuring Trucks, “You Ain’t Above Me” and “From Here On Out.” The Whisper Sessions also includes a stunning version of the Allman Brothers Band classic “Melissa” with Trucks, who appears on three songs on the album.
