Reba McEntire’s ‘Happy’s Place’ to get Blu-ray release

The series makes its Blu-ray debut ahead of season two

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment (UPHE) has announced that Happy’s Place Season One, starring Reba McEntire, will come to Blu-ray on November 4th.

“Country music legend Reba McEntire returns to comedy with the new multi-camera sitcom Happy’s Place, in which Bobbie (Reba McEntire) inherits her father’s restaurant and is less than thrilled to discover that she has a new business partner in the half-sister she never knew she had. The series stars Reba McEntire, Belissa Escobedo, Melissa Peterman (Reba), Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk, and Rex Linn,” UPHE describes the series.

Further details about the release featuring the first 18 episodes of the NBC series are unknown as of press time. Preorders are expected to launch soon.

The release drops three days ahead of the season two premiere, set for a double episode on Friday, November 7th, on NBC and streaming the next day on Peacock. The new season will feature Christopher Lloyd, Carol Kane, and Cheri Oteri as guest stars. The first season featured former Reba stars Christopher Rich and Steve Howey in guest roles.

Former Reba executive producers Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis produce alongside Julie Abbott and McEntire. The series was written by Kevin Abbott, the showrunner for Reba from 2002-2007, and her follow-up sitcom, Malibu Country, which had a single 18-episode run on ABC in 2012.

McEntire co-wrote the Happy’s Place theme song with band member Doug Sisemore and pop singer/songwriter Carole King.

Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, produces the sitcom.

Reba also returns as a coach on season 28 of The Voice. This will mark the fourth run for the multi-faceted Oklahoma native, who previously served as a coach from seasons 24-26. The show will launch with two hours on Mondays and Tuesdays in September, before moving to one night a week with the NBA. Fans can see the show on Tuesdays for three weeks at the start of the season before moving to Mondays through at least December. The NBA schedule is still being finalized, so airdates are subject to change.
