Maggie Rose shares ‘Sting’, kicks off 2025 AmericanaFest

Rose kicked off 2025 AmericanaFest with a special concert

Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Maggie Rose has shared her new single, “Sting,” via One Riot. Along with the song, Rose has announced the release of her forthcoming EP, Cocoon, dropping October 10th.

“Sting” was co-written by Maggie, Natalie Hemby (The Highwomen), Steph Jones (Sabrina Carpenter, Teddy Swims) and Davis Naish. The track displays Rose’s evolution as a songwriter and performer, delivering an assured, soulful and rich vocal. Behind a propulsive rhythm section and lush strings, Maggie sings about moving on after a fractured relationship, “You’re always gonna be obsessed with me, ‘cause you got nothing I got everything, the juice even the squeeze, the honey and the bee, ooh I even got the sting.”

Maggie says, “I couldn’t help myself when I wrote ‘Sting’ with the incredible Steph Jones, Natalie Hemby and Davis Naish. I went full-tilt into ‘I told you so’ mode and had a great time doing it. I know people will detect the playfulness in the lyric, particularly in the bridge. I hope listeners will have as much fun listening to it as I did writing it.”

The release of Cocoon is an organic bridge between Maggie’s acclaimed album No One Gets Out Alive and new music coming in 2026. Co-produced by longtime collaborator Ben Tanner and Davis Naish, Cocoon embodies where Maggie finds herself as both an artist and new mother to son Graham. Along with “Sting,” Cocoon features her latest collab with Grace Potter, “Poison In My Well,” recent singles, “Same Way” and “Relentless,” plus two more new, unreleased tracks.

Nominated for Best Emerging Act at The Americana Honors and Awards, Rose brought the house down with a performance of “No One Gets Out Alive” at the ceremony on September 10th. Rose kicked off AmericanaFest at a special concert with the Nashville Symphony and will return for Pilgrimage Festival on September 27th.

Rose also hosts her own podcast, Salute The Songbird, where she engages in candid conversations with her female musical heroes. On September 16th, she’ll tape a special episode presented in partnership with Family Alliance in Music to spotlight the challenges and rewards of motherhood for the performing musician, featuring celebrated artists Caitlyn Smith, Jillian Jacqueline and Lucie Silvas.
