Clairo signs with Atlantic Records

She is considered one of the most vital artists of the time

Atlantic Records announces the signing of the acclaimed, Grammy-nominated artist Clairo. A singular voice among contemporary singer-songwriters, over the course of three groundbreaking albums, Clairo has emerged as one of the most vital artists of her generation, redefining the boundaries of pop music with her signature sound. The Atlanta-born artist has also built a reputation as a potent live performer with compelling live performances at Coachella, The Newport Folk Festival, and many others.

“I’m so thrilled to begin this next chapter of my musical journey with Atlantic,” says Clairo. “From our first meeting, they immediately understood my vision, and it feels good to know I can continue to be as expressive and free with my ideas with a great new partner by my side.”

American indie luminary Clairo has spearheaded new pop conventions and upended them. Her soft rock intimations, interwoven with tendrils of ‘70s soul and lush R&B, have spellbound listeners of all ages. Born Claire Cottrill, the artist began self-recording songs and music videos at 13, which amassed a huge fanbase on YouTube.

Released in 2017, her lo-fi pop confessional “Pretty Girl” went viral, earning her a joint record deal with Fader Label. She went on to unveil Immunity in 2019 and Sling in 2021, which were both met with critical acclaim. For each of her full-length projects, Clairo collaborated on production with legendary names like Vampire Weekend artist Rostam Batmanglij (Immunity), Jack Antonoff (Sling), and recently partnered with Leon Michels of El Michels Affair for her latest album, Charm.

Charm took Clairo to stratospheric new heights and earned a nomination for Best Alternative Album at the 67th annual Grammy Awards. After its release, Charm spent 14 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart, and Clairo amassed over 7.5 billion global artist streams.
