Karol G partners with Casa Dragones for tequila

The drink was inspired by Karol G’s anthem “200 Copas”

Global superstar Karol G launches 200 Copas by Casa Dragones, an extraordinary new cristalino tequila made in partnership with Casa Dragones, the award-winning small-batch tequila producer founded by Bertha González Nieves. Inspired by Karol G’s multiplatinum hit “200 Copas,” the launch represents a first-of-its-kind entrepreneurial venture between two powerful Latina visionaries and marks Casa Dragones’ debut Cristalino expression.

This is a true partnership created in the name of friendship from two leaders eager to innovate and connect with tequila lovers globally. Karol G, whose song “200 Copas” has become an anthem of empowerment and connection, sought to create a tequila that could capture the spirit of those shared experiences. In Casa Dragones, she found the perfect partner: Bertha González Nieves, the first woman recognized as a Maestra Tequilera and a pioneer in Mexican craftsmanship and tequila innovation. The focus was to develop a tequila that embodies authenticity, craftsmanship, and the true meaning of luxury—defined not by status, but by the value of real connections.

“When I created my song 200 Copas, I remember being surrounded by my closest friends—who actually all appear in its music video—and thinking how lucky I was to be sharing such cherished moments with them,” Karol G says. “Ever since, I knew I wanted to create something tangible that could capture the value behind that moment and allow people to connect in the same way. Tequila was the drink we were having that night, and I was already such a big fan of Casa Dragones that I couldn’t think of anyone better than Bertha—the first Maestra Tequilera in the world—to craft it with me. In Casa Dragones, I found an authentic tequila maker who understands tradition but also dares to innovate.”

Crafted in small batches of no more than 500 cases per batch, 200 Copas by Casa Dragones is made from 100% Blue Weber Agave grown in the rich volcanic soil of Tequila, Jalisco. It is aged over 12 months in custom American oak barrels and carefully filtered to achieve a crystal-clear body with bright hues and elegant legs. On the nose, it offers fresh notes of citrus, pine, and sweet floral. On the palate, it delivers creamy notes of almond, sweet roasted agave, and plum, with a long and rounded finish of honey and spiced wood. The result is a tequila that expands the repertoire and celebrates Mexican craftsmanship while remaining rooted in Casa Dragones’ sustainable, modern production process that uses less water, less energy, and creates less waste than conventional methods. 200 Copas by Casa Dragones, crafted for Karol G, is now the latest addition to the producer’s already formidable portfolio of ultra-premium sipping tequilas, including Casa Dragones Joven, Blanco, Añejo Barrel Blend, and Mizunara Reposado.

Fans had long speculated about Karol G’s next major project, with the artist leaving subtle Easter eggs throughout key moments in her career over the past two years. That anticipation will culminate in Paris, where—to celebrate the announcement of this partnership—Karol G will raise the first official toast with 200 Copas by Casa Dragones during her highly anticipated performances at the legendary Crazy Horse. In an iconic debut moment, the tequila will also become a spirit served at the venue, inviting her fans into the ritual of celebration at the very heart of her artistry.

With the announcement of this new product, Casa Dragones released the first of four episodes of a new docu-series where Karol G and Bertha Gonzalez Nieves offer an insightful audiovisual experience that captures the captivating story of the creation of the new Tequila. Every week, a new episode will be posted on the brand’s YouTube Channel.

The product will begin rolling out to select retailers in Mexico and the United States on October 1st, with an additional launch planned in Karol G’s home country of Colombia in 2026.
