The new single drops ahead of her Austin City Limits debut
Rising R&B/country/gospel trailblazer Tiera Kennedy releases new single, “Down The Road” via Green Is My Color, LLC. Written by Kennedy, Cameron Bedell, Jared Scott, and Emily Falvey and produced by Cameron Bedell, Kennedy’s latest is a timely, much-needed reminder of brighter days ahead.
“I’ve sat around dining room tables with friends and shared stories with strangers across the world, and I’ve realized how alike we all are,” Kennedy shares. “We’ve all lost something, carried heartbreak, or waited for healing to come. The waiting is the hardest part but there’s comfort in knowing there’s always something better down the road. I hope this song reminds you to hold onto peace in the waiting, trusting that brighter days are on their way.
To pair with the song, Kennedy also released an official visualizer. Set atop a beautiful mountainscape in rural Tennessee, the visualizer complements the song’s message of hope and brighter days.
“Down The Road” follows two additional 2025 originals: afro-pop earworm “Somebody Like You” and gospel duet “Making Room” featuring Joe L Barnes. Tiera also celebrated the first anniversary of Grammy Album of the Year, Cowboy Carter, including her two features on “Blackbiird” and “Tyrant,” by releasing a cover of Beyoncé’s “1+1.”
Kennedy will make her Austin City Limits debut on Friday, October 3rd, performing at 1:15 pm CT on the American Express Stage. Marking her introduction to one of the nation’s most iconic festivals, the appearance solidifies her rising success.
