The song is the second release from her upcoming album
Jamie O’Neal recently announced the release of her Gypsum album, hitting January 23, 2026 – her first studio album since 2020’s Sometimes. O’Neal’s fun, upbeat “Slippery Slope” is available to all streaming services. The second release from the new album, the Australian native wrote the song with longtime collaborators and dear friends Roxie Dean and Robin Lee. She produced the track with Rodney Good for BFD/Audium Nashville.
“’Slippery Slope’ was written years ago in a writer’s room with two hilarious friends of mine, Roxie Dean and Robin Lee,” O’Neal says. “In between cuttin’ up, we managed to write a fun uptempo song about two reckless, young lovers…oh to be that young and stupid again!”
O’Neal rocketed into the country music mainstream 25 years ago with her No. 1 singles “There Is No Arizona” and “When I Think About Angels,” leading a string of hit songs, platinum albums, four Grammy nominations, and the Academy of Country Music’s Top New Female Vocalist award.
The ten-song Gypsum collection includes six songs co-written by O’Neal along with a host of her best friends and writing partners. Jamie produced the album with her husband, Rodney Good, who also recorded and mixed all songs.
