Avicii ‘Stories on Stories’ mini-series premieres

Archival footage shows behind-the-scenes making of the Stories album

Pophouse and the Avicii Estate have premiered the first episode of Stories on Stories, a three-part mini-series exclusively on YouTube, which takes a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Avicii’s Stories album, released ten years ago last month.

The first episode is a master class in mutual creative respect and the meticulous exploration of language and melody as viewers witness producer, songwriter, and DJ, Tim “Avicii” Bergling and singer-songwriter Alex Ebert, create the song “For A Better Day” in real time during two sessions in Los Angeles in 2014 and 2015. Audiences are invited to witness the journey of music creation, from the first melodies to the final lyrics, and to share in the joy that comes with bringing a song to life.

Initially teased on the tenth anniversary of the album on October 2nd, Stories on Stories draws its inspiration from a 2015 interview in which Avicii revealed that all studio sessions were filmed and expressed his wish to one day create a YouTube series about his creative process. Throughout the series, fans will get a glimpse into the making of select Stories tracks, meeting the various collaborators on the album, and seeing the unique songwriting techniques of Avicii.

Future episodes will feature insights from renowned artists and producers such as Gavin DeGraw, Rami Yacoub and Wyclef Jean. These episodes will take viewers behind the scenes, highlighting the creative process and the journey from the studio to the finished track, including iconic songs like “Sunset Jesus.”

Stories on Stories is a three-part series, with the first episode premiering on November 6th. Two additional episodes are set to be released on December 4th and January 1st.
