The star breaks multiple records globally
Rosalía’s new album, Lux, has delivered the strongest global debut of her career, dominating charts across continents and reaffirming her position as one of the most influential and boundary-pushing artists in music today. With historic results in Spain, record-setting performances in France and the United Kingdom, multiple No. 1 debuts across Europe, her highest-ever placement in the United States, and impressive momentum across Latin America, Lux arrives as a landmark achievement in Rosalía’s artistic evolution.
In Spain, the album achieved a truly unprecedented debut, coming very close to reaching 52K SEA in its first week, a figure that sets a new modern benchmark for the market and places Rosalía in a league of her own. The album surpassed the first-week performances of previous global blockbusters, solidifying Lux as a once-in-a-generation commercial and cultural moment.
Lux holds every major modern record in Spain, including the most successful album release in Spanish streaming history, the best-selling first-week album in Spain since streaming, debuting directly as Platinum, the highest first-week SEA total recorded in Spain, and the best-selling first-week vinyl album in Spain since the vinyl chart launched. These milestones powered the album’s #1 debut in Spain, marking a defining home-country victory for Rosalía.
Across Europe, Lux continued its extraordinary trajectory. In France and Portugal, the album achieved the highest week-one album sales for a Latin/Hispanic artist in streaming history. Additionally, in Portugal, the track “Memória” featuring Carminho achieved the biggest day one debut on Spotify for a Spanish/Latin artist and the biggest debut ever for a track involving a Portuguese artist. In Germany, the album entered at No. 2, marking one of the strongest debuts of her career in the region. In the United Kingdom, Lux became the highest-charting album by a Spanish female artist in Official Charts Company history, debuting inside the Top 5.
Beyond these historic results, Lux opened at No. 1 in Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, and Belgium and delivered strong debuts across Italy, Ireland, Denmark, and Canada. In the United States, the album entered at No. 4, Rosalía’s highest-ever debut in the market and a major milestone in her expanding North American footprint.
Across Latin America, Lux delivered exceptional results on Spotify’s Weekly Album Charts, reaching No. 1 in Argentina and Chile, with strong Top 10 placements including No. 3 in the Dominican Republic and Panama, No. 5 in Peru and Brazil, and No. 9 in Mexico and Colombia.
Globally, the album debuted at No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Weekly Album Chart, making it the most-streamed album in the world this week.
