The sets will drop on February 27th
German thrash band Sodom is prepping deluxe expanded reissues of its 1994 sixth studio album, Get What You Deserve. The new editions will be available on February 27th via Noise/BMG.
Get What You Deserve will be released as an extensive box set, remastered and newly mixed by Andy Brings, including the remastered and remixed Aber Bitte Mit Sahne EP, plus the first concert with drummer Atomic Steif as a bonus double LP and a DVD with additional live shows. Alongside the original hotel room cover, the package also includes the censored version with the band photo and the originally planned artwork featuring a Knarrenheinz painting by cult artist Andreas Marschall.
“I wanted to strip the album — which already had almost no additives and zero ballast — down to the absolute maximum,” Brings says. “No samples, no tricks, just a very pissed-off band at the peak of its creative energy.”
“Over 30 years ago, we went against the current with this album — and we’re doing it again today. Nothing sounds like this record, and that makes me proud. Get What You Deserve was, is, and will always be the sound of pure defiance. My personal favorite Sodom album!” frontman Tom Angelripper shares.
The first single, “Sodomized,” was the first song written by the new lineup in 1993.
The accompanying video, made from Brings’ private footage of the Christmas Metal Meetings Tour, features not only the band but also Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead and other legendary musicians.
Sodom’s deluxe, expanded reissue of Get What You Deserve will be available as a 3 CD set with a 24-page booklet, double gatefold milky clear vinyl, and as a super deluxe box set. The box contains a shotgun-wound liquid vinyl on 5 LPs, one DVD, a book, a poster, and a backpatch, limited to 150 copies via the Noise Records store only.
Pre-orders of the deluxe box set edition will come with a limited 30 cm x 30 cm art card signed by Tom Angelripper and Andy Brings from the Noise Records store, while stocks last!
