Cami, Alessia Cara, Paula Fernandes and others among performers

The Latin Recording Academy has announced the lineup of artists scheduled to perform at the 2019 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year gala honoring Juanes. Performers include current Latin GRAMMY Awards nominees Cami, Alessia Cara, Paula Fernandes, Fonseca, Juan Luis Guerra, Mon Laferte, Morat, Ozuna, Draco Rosa, Rosalía, Alejandro Sanz, and Sebastián Yatra. In addition six-time Latin GRAMMY and GRAMMY winners Jesse & Joy; six-time Latin GRAMMY winner and GRAMMY nominee Fito Páez; and past Latin GRAMMY nominee Pablo López will also perform; and acclaimed guitarist Orianthi will also take the stage. Attending guests will enjoy a special presentation from comedian Andrés López.

The 2019 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year gala will honor 23-time Latin GRAMMY and two-time GRAMMY-winning singer, composer, musician, and philanthropist Juanes for his creative artistry, unprecedented humanitarian efforts, support of rising artists, and philanthropic contributions to the world.

The sold out, star-studded tribute concert will feature renditions of some of Juanes’ renowned repertoire and will take place on November 13th at the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas. The event precedes the 20th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards, airing live on the Univision Network on November 14th from 8-11 pm ET/PT from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

This year’s Latin Person of the Year gala will showcase a performance from Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation scholarship recipients featuring the Latin GRAMMY Foundation’s global ambassador Sofia Carson.

Pepsi will return for the second year in a row as the evening’s presenting sponsor with a special gala tribute video featuring footage captured at the Pepsi Backstage Lounge during rehearsals. Additionally, Pepsi will once again collaborate with the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation to help four students pursue their music studies by providing $10,000 Tuition Assistance Scholarships to each. Other participating, official-level sponsors include Bulova, Hennessy, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, Mastercard, Nissan, Oreo, and Walmart.

Latin Recording Academy President/CEO Gabriel Abaroa Jr. will be the executive producer of the prestigious gala and Eduardo Osorio, the assistant executive producer. Greg Fera will serve again as the event producer, and Gustavo Borner, who has received 11 Latin GRAMMYs and five GRAMMYs, will be in charge of the sound for the night. The talent coordination will fall under the management of Moon Moosic, Inc., and the musical directors for the evening are Lee Levin six-time Latin GRAMMY and GRAMMY winner; and Doug Emery.

Net proceeds from the 2019 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year gala will go toward the charitable work of the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation, whose mission is to further international awareness and appreciation of the significant contributions of Latin music and its makers to the world’s culture through scholarships, grants, and educational programs. The Foundation’s primary charitable focus is to provide scholarships to students interested in Latin music with financial need, as well as grants to scholars and organizations worldwide for research and preservation of diverse Latin music genres. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Fundación Mi Sangre, founded by Juanes in his native Colombia.
