Justin Bieber, Olivia Rodrigo among 2021 RIAA Gold & Platinum certified artists

Twenty-seven releases in 2021 have been certified so far this year

Seven albums and 20 singles released in 2021’s first half have achieved Gold and Platinum certifications by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Gold is awarded for sales or streams equivalent of at least 500k while Platinum is for one million. Several artists appear on the list multiple times, including Olivia Rodrigo, Justin Bieber and Moneybagg Yo.

Rodrigo has received a Platinum certification her debut album Sour and single “Driver’s License.” The RIAA also certifies her singles “Good 4 U” and “Deja Vu” 9x Platinum for sales or streams equivalent of nine million each.

Bieber has been awarded a Platinum certification for his album Justice while achieving a 9x Platinum certification for his singles “Anyone” and “Peaches” featuring Daniel Caesar and Giveon.

Moneybagg Yo receives a Platinum certification for “Time Today” single and Gold for his album A Gangasta’s Pain.

Los Legendarios/Wisin/Jhay Cortez receives 7x Platinum status for their collaborative single “Fiel,” Lil Tjay & 6lack 2x Platinum with their “Calling My Phone” single, and Lil Nas X 2x Platinum certification for “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” single.

Gold certifications have been awarded to Giveon, Marron 5, DJ Khalid and Pooh Shiesty.

Bruno Mars, Kanye West, Morgan Wallen, Kelsea Ballerini, Pop Smoke, Machine Gun Kelly and George Harrison are among the numerous other artists who have received Gold & Platinum certifications so far this year for music released pre-2021.
