Six song set drops June 9th
Kelly Clarkson will release Kellyoke EP on June 9th via Atlantic Records. The six track project features the pop star on new studio recordings of some of her favorite covers she’s performed on The Kelly Clarkson Show. Tracks include Billie Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever,” Radiohead’s “Fake Plastic Trees,” and Linda Ronstadt’s “Blue Bayou,” among others.
“Music is in the DNA of everything I do, so when The Kelly Clarkson Show started we knew it was the perfect way to kick off every episode,” Clarkson shares. “Over 500 songs later, and we’re still not running out of amazing artists to pay tribute to. Picking just six was near-impossible, but these songs have been some of my favorites. Thanks for singing along with me y’all!”
“Happier Than Ever” is currently available digitally and was first performed on her eponymous talk show on September 30, 2021.
Since the premiere of The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2019, “Kellyoke” has become an institution in its own right with over 500 songs covered to date and counting. The fan-favorite segment sees Clarkson and her band, Y’all, turn audience requests and personal favorites into stunning performances that captivate viewers and the internet alike. A longtime staple of Clarkson’s live show, the series was helmed by her long-time music director Jason Halbert, who along with vocal director Jessi Collins expertly tailor the performances.
Clarkson is currently filming season three of her multi-Emmy Award-winning daytime talk show which has already been picked up for its fourth season.
Last fall, the GRAMMY Award winning original American Idol released her ninth studio album, When Christmas Comes Around…,” her latest since 2017’s critically acclaimed Grammy-nominated album Meaning of Life and second holiday offering following 2013’s Wrapped In Red. The 15-track collection, featuring a mix of new original songs and Christmas classics, sees Clarkson explore a wide range of holiday emotions and experiences anchored by her incomparable vocal prowess.
