Shows will resume in September

Aerosmith has canceled its June and July Deuces Are Wild residency dates in Las Vegas due to frontman Steven Tyler entering rehab. The rockers shared the news on social media on Tuesday (May 24th).

“As many of you know, our beloved brother Steven has worked on his sobriety for many years. After foot surgery to prepare for the stage and the necessity of pain management during the process, he has recently relapsed and voluntarily entered a treatment program to concentrate on his health and recovery,” the band writes.

“We are truly sorry to inform our fans and friends that we must cancel our first set of Las Vegas Residency dates this June and July while he focuses on his well-being.

“We will continue our 2022 dates starting in September, and we’ll let you know any further updates as soon as we can. We are devastated that we have inconvenienced so many of you, especially our most loyal fans who often travel great distances to experience our shows.

“Thank you for your understanding and for your support for Steven during this time.

“If you purchased your tickets via Ticketmaster, you will be refunded and will receive an email shortly with details, otherwise please contact your point of purchase for information on refunds.”

The group was scheduled to perform 24 dates at Dolby Live at Park MGM, beginning Friday, June 17th. It was to be the first live concert experience presented in Dolby Atmos at Dolby Live bringing fans face-to-face with America’s greatest rock ‘n’ roll band in one of the most immersive, state-of-the art audio experiences ever.

The residency is set to play September 14, 17, 20, 23, 26, 29; October 2, 5; November 19, 23, 26, 29; and December 2, 5, 8, 11.

Earlier this year, drummer Joey Kramer announced a leave of absence to focus on his family. Drum tech John Douglas was set to man the skins for the band upon its Vegas return.

The Boston rockers launched the residency in 2019 with a few shows performed in early 2020 before going on hiatus due to the pandemic.
