Boston’s biggest bands are coming home for a weekend of music at Fenway Park

Boston natives Aerosmith and New Kids on the Block are both set to play one night each for a historic weekend of Boston’s biggest music at famed Fenway Park. The hometown heroes will play Friday, September 18th and Saturday, September 19th respectively. Tickets for Aerosmith go on-sale to the public on January 31st at 10 am ET, with tickets for NKOTB on-sale to the public on January 31st at noon ET at livenation.com.

Citi is the official presale credit card for these shows. Citi cardmembers will have access to purchase presale tickets beginning Tuesday, January 28th at 10 am ET for Aerosmith and noon ET for NKOTB through Citi Entertainment.

In the midst of celebrating 50 years as a band, Aerosmith was recently honored as the MusiCares Person of the Year for their considerable philanthropic efforts and undeniable impact on American music history, along with an their recent Grammys performance at Sunday nights Awards, but they also continue their record-breaking Las Vegas residency through 2020. Now they will have the ultimate celebration of their 50th Anniversary at Fenway Park for an incredible once-in-a-lifetime one-night only performance, in the city where it all began.

Aerosmith is one of the best-selling American rock bands of all-time, having sold over 150 million albums worldwide and been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. With 25 gold albums, 18 platinum albums, and 12 multi-platinum albums, they hold the record for the most total certifications by an American band and are tied for the most multi-platinum albums by an American band. The band has scored 21 Top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including nine #1 Mainstream Rock hits. They are the recipients of countless awards including four GRAMMYs, six American Music Awards, four Billboard Awards, 10 MTV Video Music Awards and now MusiCares Person of the Year among many other honors. Proving that they can cross genre-boundaries with ease, these rock legends have even taken home a Soul Train Award for Best Rap Single for their remix of Run DMC’s “Walk This Way.”

On the heels of their record breaking MIXTAPE Tour, the highest grossing tour of their storied careers, NKOTB will take to the historic Fenway Park for a special one night only homecoming. Part of a weekend being billed as Boston’s Biggest Bands, this will mark the only show for NKOTB for the 2020 calendar year. Known for delivering Blockheads with one-night-only experiences and legendary collaborative events, NKOTB promises to play fan favorite hits like “Hangin Tough,” “I’ll Be Loving You (Forever),” and “Step By Step” and will bring along special guests Bel Biv Devoe with many more surprises promised along the way. The group previously performed at the world-famous ballpark for the first time, when they visited the Green Monster on their acclaimed NKOTBSB Tour alongside the Backstreet Boys. NKOTB returned for a second time on the Package Tour with Paula Abdul and Boyz II Men. Their return, set for Saturday, September 19th, marks their third time taking to the legendary field. Getting the chance to play Fenway is always a dream for the five Boston natives and an honor shared with the likes of Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen Billy Joel, and of course, Aerosmith.

New Kids on the Block have sold more than 80 million albums worldwide — including back-to-back international No. 1 songs, 1988’s “Hangin’ Tough” and 1990’s “Step By Step” — and a series of crossover smash R&B, pop hits like “You Got It (The Right Stuff),” “Cover Girl,” “Didn’t I (Blow Your Mind This Time),” “Hangin’ Tough,” “I’ll Be Loving You,” “Step By Step” and “Tonight.” The group which started with humble Boston beginnings grew to shatter concert box office records playing an estimated 200 concerts a year, in sold out stadiums throughout the world.
