The Eaton Fire began on January 7, 2025, and was fully contained on January 31st. It started in Eaton Canyon in the San Gabriel Mountains, near Altadena and Pasadena in Southern California.

Over 14 thousand acres burned with at least 19 people killed. Over 9,400 structures, including homes, were damaged with an estimated $27.5 billion in damages, making it one of California’s most destructive wildfires.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but was fueled by a strong Santa Ana wind event.
