Ari Lennox unleashes ‘Under the Moon’ video

The song appears on her forthcoming album

R&B star Ari Lennox transforms in a new video for her electrifying single, “Under the Moon,” via Interscope Records. Just in time for Halloween, the Erik Rojas-directed video captures Ari and her date flirting across a late-night diner booth. But as the full moon rises, things start to feel off, with Ari’s suitor displaying increasingly erratic behavior. When the tension hits its peak, Ari flips the script in a twist that no one will see coming.

“Under the Moon” previews Ari’s third studio album, Vacancy, set for release on January 23rd. The single has already become a staple across all the leading R&B playlists and earned Ari the prestigious cover of Apple Music’s New Music Daily playlist.

The hotly anticipated Vacancy has already generated a pair of winning singles with “Under the Moon” and title track “Vacancy,” which reunited Ari with Grammy-winning hitmakers Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox – the same team behind Ari’s Billboard chart-topping, RIAA platinum-certified “Pressure” – for another magical collaboration that centers her soul-stirring vocals.

With her new album on the horizon, Lennox is elevating her stage show with a string of stirring performances. She lit up last weekend’s One Music Fest in Atlanta with a scorching rendition of “Vacancy” and several smashes from her universally adored Shea Butter Baby and Age/Sex/Location albums before returning to the stage with fellow R&B powerhouse Jazmine Sullivan for a smoking, soul-drenched version of their beloved collaboration “On It.” Next up, Ari will take the stage at the 80th Ebony 100 gala in November, joining this year’s historic annual salute to black excellence as a premier performer.

Other recent highlights include this year’s catchy “Soft Girl Era” and 2024’s “Smoke,” an expert blend of classic and contemporary R&B sounds. Both tracks furthered Ari’s hitmaking streak on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart and generated millions of streams. The multihyphenate continued to captivate audiences and generate new fans with collaborations with Camper on “War” with Jeremih, Foggieraw’s “Stay Awhile,” and Jessie Reyez’s “Just Like That.”

In addition to the outstanding new songs, Ari wowed Essence Fest with a set packed with RIAA-certified hits, fan-favorite deep cuts, and viral covers. Further, she recently turned heads at New York Fashion Week in September, proving that her impact reaches well beyond the stage.
