The song debuts at No. 1 on a variety of charts
Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum recording artist, and international superstar Ariana Grande debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love),” marking Grande’s ninth No. 1 on the chart and making her the first artist with multiple No. 1 hits in 2024 following “Yes, And?.”
Yesterday, Grande’s critically acclaimed new album Eternal Sunshine debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, her sixth No. 1 album. The simultaneous No. 1 debuts on the Billboard 200 and Hot 100 charts, mark the first of Ariana’s career and first among all artists in 2024.
“We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)” also debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 Chart, and ties for the most No. 1 hits among female artists of all time. The song received the most first-week global streams for any song in 2024, peaking at No. 1 on the Daily Global Spotify Songs Chart, Daily US Spotify Songs Chart, and Daily Apple Music Songs Chart. Eternal Sunshine, also debuts at No. 1 on the Spotify Global Top Albums Chart, US iTunes Chart, US Apple Music Chart, Billboard Top Album Sales, and Top Streaming Albums.
Last week, Grande released Eternal Sunshine (Slightly Deluxe) via Republic Records. The new version features four additional songs including new releases, “Supernatural” featuring Troye Sivan, “Imperfect For You (Acoustic),” “True Story (A Capella),” and the previously released “Yes, And?” featuring Mariah Carey.”
