Final trek kicks off Aug 22nd
The B-52’s will embark on its “final tour ever on planet Earth” this summer as Fred Schneider, Cindy Wilson and Kate Pierson say farewell to the road. The trek kicks off August 22nd in Seattle with stops in Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, New York City, San Francisco and Los Angeles, before wrapping in with a show in their home state of Georgia on November 11th. The Tubes and KC and the Sunshine Band will support select dates.
More shows are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Tickets are on sale April 29th at noon ET with pre-sales starting April 27th at noon ET via Ticketmaster.
“No one likes to throw a party more than we do, but after almost a half-century on the road, it’s time for one last blow-out with our friends and family… our fans. And with KC & The Sunshine Band and The Tubes on board, it’s going to be one hell of a farewell party at these concerts,” Schneider says of the trek.
“Who knew what started as a way to have some fun and play music for our friends’ at house parties in Athens in 1977 would evolve into over 45 years of making music and touring the world. It’s been cosmic,” adds Pierson.
“It has been a wild ride, that’s for sure,” chimed in Cindy Wilson. “We feel truly blessed to have had an amazing career encouraging folks to dance, sing along with us and feel they can be whomever they are with our music.”
