Badflower announces ‘No Place Like Home’

“Paws” is a banger for dearly departed pets

Badflower has announced the release of their forthcoming album, No Place Like Home. Out everywhere via Big Machine Rock on June 20th, the record will feature previously released tracks, “Haunting You,” “London,” and the No. 1 active rock radio hit, “Detroit,” in addition to their latest radio single, “Paws,” out on all platforms.

In true Badflower fashion, the Nashville-based rockers return to make hard topics bearable with their new album, the long-awaited follow-up to their 2021 sophomore record, This Is How The World Ends. Taking the time to get things right, frontman Josh Katz leads us through personal tales of paranoia, regret, and even pet loss, that somehow remain universally relatable and pleasantly palatable.

With their new single, “Paws,” the Nashville-based rockers cover arguably one of the most difficult human experiences: the loss of a pet. Offering up a heavy dose of catharsis with pristine emo throwback production, the mid-tempo tune is driven by heartfelt guitar riffs, crashing drum lines, and gigantic choruses that will have you scream-singing along in honor of the furry friends we love so much.

“Losing a pet is a very serious thing,” Katz explains. “It’s something I’ve been through, and I know a lot of other people have been through. I live on a farm by myself in the middle of nowhere, so I don’t have very many friends. My animals are my whole world. It’s a sad topic, but I like sad songs, and I hope it can help someone going through that experience right now.”
