‘Barbie The Movie: In Concert’ comes to the Hollywood Bowl

The event takes place on July 27th

Mattel, Inc. has announced Barbie The Movie: In Concert, a live-to-film concert experience coming to the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday, July 27th. The concert will bring the feature film Barbie to life with live music from The Barbie Land Sinfonietta, a special presentation from Executive Producer and Orchestrator Macy Schmidt’s all-women and majority women-of-color orchestra.

Fans of all ages can celebrate the music of the highest-grossing film of 2023 in a one-of-a-kind immersive experience, to also feature specialty limited-edition merchandise, photo opportunities, and more. At the performance, Barbie will be projected onto a giant LED screen above The Barbie Land Sinfonietta as they perform alongside the film’s award-winning score. Subscription packages are available now at www.hollywoodbowl.com, while single tickets go on sale May 7th.

The Barbie Land Sinfonietta is conducted by Tony Award-winning producer Macy Schmidt. A Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, Schmidt recently became the first woman of color orchestrator in Broadway history.

“Audiences of all ages flocked to theaters last summer to celebrate the joy of the Barbie movie together,” adds Josh Silverman, Chief Franchise Officer at Mattel. “Now fans have the opportunity to further celebrate Barbie with an unforgettable live musical experience, led by an incredibly talented all-women orchestra.”

“We’re honored to announce Barbie The Movie: In Concert in partnership with the world-famous Hollywood Bowl and Mattel,” adds Schmidt. “There’s nothing quite like the energy of the Bowl, and to bring the world-class women musicians of the Barbie Land Sinfonietta to such an iconic venue feels like a perfect match.”

The full-length feature film Barbie received more than 460 industry nominations and 120 wins, including eight Academy Award nominations. Music from Barbie was nominated for 11 Grammy Awards, with three wins secured in key categories including Song Of The Year and Best Song Written For Visual Media (Billie Eilish O’Connell and Finneas O’Connell, What Was I Made For?), and Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media.

Mattel Films’ first theatrical release, Barbie, was released worldwide on July 21, 2023, by Warner Bros. Pictures. The highest-grossing film of 2023, Barbie is directed by Greta Gerwig, stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, and is produced in partnership with Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley of LuckyChap and David Heyman.
