Song is from No Time to Die

Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell are Oscar winners after be awarded Best Song for “No Time To Die” Sunday (Mar 27th) in Hollywood. The brother and sister team penned and recorded the track for the James Bond film, No Time To Die, marking Eilish the youngest artist ever to pen a Bond theme song. They are the first sibling duo to take home the honor since 1964. Eilish is the second youngest winner in the category at 20 years old.

Eilish thanked the James Bond team, and their managers while O’Connell thanked their parents as “real people” and promised The Academy they wouldn’t lose their golden statues.

The duo was up against Beyonce’s “Be Alive” from King Richard, “Somehow You Do” from Four Good Days which was written by Diane Warren and performed by Reba McEntire, Van Morrison’s “Down to Joy” from Belfast and Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “Dos Oruguitas” from Disney’s Encanto, performed by Sebastian Yatra.

Had Miranda won, he would’ve joined the EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) prestigious list. Warren has been nominated 13 times in the category but has never won.

Each song was performed on the show by its respective singer except for Morrison who wasn’t able to attend due to his tour schedule.

Beyonce opened the show with a performance of “Be Alive” that was taped at the Compton tennis courts where Venus and Serena Williams used to practice.

McEntire performed “Somehow You Do” with an all-star band that included Travis Barker on drums, Kevin Jonas on guitar, Robert Randolph on the pedal steel, Sheila E. on percussion and others. Four Good Days star Mila Kunis, who is from Ukraine, introduced the performance and paid homage to the country. A moment of silence followed the performance in solidarity.

Yatra stunned the crowd at the Dolby Theater performing “Dos Oruguitas.” As the first Colombian solo artist to perform on the Oscars’ stage honoring his home country, Yatra sported a custom suit by acclaimed Colombian designer Esteban Cortazar with hand-embroidered butterflies by Ana Maria Restrepo and shoes by Christian Louboutin.

Also, drummer Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, took home the Best Documentary Feature Oscar for his work directing the musical documentary, Summer of Soul (…Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised). The moment was foreshadowed by the infamous Will Smith-Chris Rock slap that has the entire world talking.
