Blink-182 joins Spotify’s Billions Club

The band was honored ahead of the Super Bowl in New Orleans

Blink-182 joins Spotify’s Billions Club with its hit “All The Small Things.” The band was honored for the feat during last night’s (Fri, Feb 7th) FanDuel Super Bowl party powered by Spotify in New Orleans.

Guitarist and frontman Tom DeLonge and bassist Mark Hoppus wrote the track. It was featured on the band’s third album, Enema of the State, released in June 1999 via MCA Records, which was the first with Travis Barker replacing original drummer Scott Raynor.

The single was released in September 1999 as the second from Enema. It became the punk rock trio’s most successful song, topping the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and peaking at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US. It peaked at No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart, selling over 1.2 million copies and achieving double platinum certification in the country. It’s also been certified platinum in Australia and five times platinum in the United States.

The video mocked the boy bands of the 1990s and was a mainstay on MTV.

The song was a turning point in the San Diego band’s career as it’s credited with popularizing punk-rock in mainstream music. Enema of the State was a major commercial success, selling over 15 million copies, although many spoke against its glossy production.
