Bob Weir announces first London show in 22 years

The show takes place on June 21st at the Royal Albert Hall

Grateful Dead co-founder Bobby Weir has announced a special show with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Saturday, June 21st. The performance will mark Weir’s first appearance at this iconic venue and first show in London in over two decades.

Weir will be joined by his Wolf Bros bandmates, including Grammy-winning producer Don Was on bass, along with Dead & Company bandmates Jeff Chimenti on piano and Jay Lane on drums.

The evening will feature two full sets of music, including reimagined Grateful Dead classics, selections from Weir’s solo catalog, and beloved songs from Weir’s career, all performed for the first time in the UK with a full 68-piece orchestra.

This orchestral project debuted in the U.S. in 2022 with a sold-out four-night run at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., where Weir and his bandmates performed with the National Symphony Orchestra.

Building on that debut, Weir has brought the project across the US including stops with the Stanford Symphony Orchestra, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, Chicago Philharmonic, and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra at the famed Saenger Theater. The original arrangements are crafted by Stanford professor and composer Dr. Giancarlo Aquilanti.

Presales start tomorrow (Wed, Apr 2nd) at 4 pm local time ahead of the general sale on Friday, April 4th at 4 pm local time.
