The new original Christmas song is available now

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Bon Jovi has shared an official video for their new original holiday song “Christmas Isn’t Christmas,” released last month on Island Records.

“‘Christmas Isn’t Christmas’ is a song that I wrote about family,” frontman Jon Bon Jovi says. “The sentiment that Christmas really isn’t Christmas without YOU which can bring up a lot of memories for people. I also liked to turn it around and know that because of you Christmas IS Christmas.”

The band is set to celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2024 in a big way. Jon Bon Jovi recently released a video to the band’s top Spotify listeners, teasing that “lots of other big, big surprises” are in store, while revealing very little.

“In 2024, it’s Bon Jovi’s 40th anniversary. We’re gonna have a new (bleep). We’ve archived everything we’ve ever owned — (bleep),” he says. “There’s many, many songs that have never been released before. In fact, many I’ve forgotten about. There’s (bleep) that you’ll be able to see in the first quarter of the year, and lots of other big, big surprises to celebrate Bon Jovi’s 40th.”

Recently, former guitarist Richie Sambora shared that a documentary was in the works and hopes to reunite with his bandmates for an upcoming tour, although further details haven’t been revealed.

Part of the group’s 40th anniversary celebration has begun with the release of a Bon Jovi-branded version of Monopoly. The Hasbro-produced game includes six collectible tokens — 40th Anniversary Heart & Dagger logo, The Have a Nice Day Smirk Face, The Diamond Superman Logo, the band’s home state of New Jersey, the classic Skull logo, and Jon Bon Jovi’s Famous Acoustic Guitar.

Early next year, NECA will release a seven-inch Jon Bon Jovi action figure. The posable collectible will feature Jon from the Slippery When Wet era complete with guitar and microphone.

Jon will also be honored as the 2024 MusiCares Person of the Year for the 33rd annual Person of the Year benefit gala taking place ahead of the Grammys on February 2nd in Los Angeles. In addition to his extensive musical achievements, Jon Bon Jovi is being recognized for his impactful philanthropic work.

Jon has been spotted around Nashville recently as the group works on the follow-up to the band’s 2020 album. Jon is also attached to a five-floor 30,000 square-foot entertainment complex on Nashville’s Lower Broadway. His involvement has yet to be confirmed, but reports suggest he has teamed with Big Plan Holdings for the property that’s still under construction at 405 Broadway.

In February, Bon Jovi earned its second video in YouTube’s Billion Views Club with “Livin’ On A Prayer.”

Bon Jovi released its self-titled debut album on January 21, 1984, on Polygram/Mercury Records, less than a year after forming in New Jersey.
