Track was recorded for Apple Music Sessions Live

Carrie Underwood has released a country version of Ozzy Osbourne’s “Mama, I’m Coming Home.” The track is featured on her Apple Music Sessions Live EP. The three song and video collection is available now and also includes live studio versions of “Blown Away” and “Ghost Story.”

“Being in the studio with Apple Music was such an incredible experience, and I’m excited to share these unique, stripped-down versions of three songs I love with my fans. We had a lot of fun reimagining these big, visual songs and presenting them in a different way,” she shares.

She continues, “I have always been an Ozzy Osbourne fan and ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’ is one of my all-time favorite songs. I’ve always thought it felt a lot like a country song, and I’ve wanted to cover it for a long time. This was a really fun opportunity for me to be able to finally make that happen. I hope we’ve done Ozzy proud and I hope he likes it.”

Underwood is no stranger to covering classic rock songs. She’s a diehard Guns N Roses fan and performed “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “Paradise City” with the group earlier this month in London. In April, Underwood made headlines when she welcomed Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose as a special guest during her headline performance at the Stagecoach Festival, marking the first time the pair ever performed together.

Underwood’s latest album, Denim & Rhinestones, debuted as the No. 1 country album around the world upon its June 10th release via UMG Nashville. It marked her 10th consecutive career Top 10 debut on the Billboard Top 200 chart for all genres.

She’s closing in on the Top 10 on the country charts with her latest smash “Ghost Story.” The song creates a lot of sweeping imagery that is brought to life in the cinematic music video, which was the main goal she wanted for the three-and-a-half minute mini-movie. In the clip, Underwood becomes somewhat of an acrobat using a trapeze.

The country star recently announced her new US arena tour, The Denim & Rhinestones Tour, with dates in fall 2022 and spring 2023. Underwood will be joined on the trek by special guest Jimmie Allen on all dates. Additionally, $1 from each ticket sold for the tour will be contributed to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. She recently completed her 2022 dates for her ongoing Reflection: The Las Vegas Residency at the Resorts World Theatre. She will return to Resorts World Las Vegas to resume her residency in 2023, following the tour. 2023 dates for Reflection will be announced at a later date.
