Grammy-nominated, Platinum-certified singer-songwriter Cassadee Pope shares a new rock version of her massive hit, “Wasting All These Tears,” in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the song. Produced by Cassadee and former Hey Monday bandmate, Alex Lipshaw, this version breathes a new life into the seminal track and marks a full circle moment for Cassadee as she further cements her place in the scene.

“‘‘Wasting All These Tears’ changed my life when it came out ten years ago,” Pop shares. “It’s a song I’ll be performing for the rest of my career and one that’s managed to take on many new lives. In my move back to my pop-punk roots, I wanted to take Watt with me. I thought who better to produce this with me than my old bandmate, Alex Lipshaw, from Hey Monday? The process was cathartic and sentimental… We truly did have the best time making this new version. ‘Wasting All These Tears (Cassadee’s Version)’ feels like a true depiction of the angst and frustration in the lyrics… it feels like coming home.”

Pope also shared the accompanying music video for the track which made its broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU and MTV Biggest Pop. Directed by Erika Rock and shot in Nashville, TN under the light of the Super Blue Moon, Pope delivers an entrancing and passionate performance of the ageless track.

Cassadee made her triumphant return to pop-punk earlier this year with the release of her single, “People That I Love Leave.” Having started her career as the frontwoman of beloved, pop-punk band, Hey Monday, “People That I Love Leave” marked a return to form for Cassadee.

Following that, she shared her most recent single, “Almost There.” Co-written by Cassadee, Nick Furlong (blink-182, 5 Seconds of Summer, Papa Roach) and Christina Galligan (Gnash, Aespa) and produced by Furlong, “Almost There” shows a different side of Cassadee that she’s never explored before with her songwriting. The track is a bold and sensual song that encapsulates feeling comfortable in your own body and the thrill of delving into new experiences with a partner you care deeply about.

Pope also recently joined fellow vocal powerhouse Taylor Acorn for her latest single, “Coma.” Co-written by Cassadee, Taylor and Dan Swank (All Time Low), the track showcases Taylor and Cassadee’s masterful vocals while highlighting the singers’ respective roots in the scene. Together, they’ve learned to confront the past, come into their own, and open themselves to new beginnings.
