Celeste shares her new single “There Will Come A Day” from the original motion picture The Color Purple via Geffen Records. A stirring, jazz-tinged ballad that unfurls into a string-laden, soul-funk groove, “There Will Come A Day” marks the beginning of an exciting new era for one of the biggest British stars to emerge in recent years.

“There Will Come A Day” is featured on The Color Purple (Music From And Inspired By). Executive produced by Quincy Jones, Larry Jackson and Scott Sanders, the album is also available now via Gamma Records.

The Color Purple (Music From And Inspired By) includes timeless classics from The Color Purple musical alongside 16 newly penned songs steeped in culture and inspired by the rich tapestry of the film’s narrative. From love and pain to strength and redemption, these new songs capture the essence of The Color Purple while paving the way for a new musical era.

Celeste co-wrote the song with Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist and producer DetoNate, aka Nathaniel Ledwidge whose credits include Labrinth, Sia, Diplo, Channel Tres, Diana Ross and more. The track was mixed by Beach Noise, renowned for their work with Kendrick Lamar.

The Color Purple, a bold new version of the beloved classic film, is released in theaters on December 25th.

Celeste is currently working on her second record, expected for release in 2024.
