The album will be released this fall
Grammy Award-winning artist Chris Tomlin announced his upcoming new album, The King Is Still The King, and his new single “How Good It Is” yesterday (Thurs, July 10th) during an appearance on Fox & Friends All-American Summer Concert Series. “How Good It Is,” written by Tomlin, Jess Cates and Jordan Mohilowski, is his new radio single and will be included on his 18th studio album, scheduled to be released on September 26th via Capitol CMG.
“‘How Good It Is’ is a celebration of the greatness of God, the goodness of God, and the faithfulness of God. Nearly every word is pulled directly from Scripture—from Psalm 92, 98, 100, and 113. When we sing it together, we’re proclaiming God’s Word and there’s something powerful in that,” Tomlin shares. “If I could pick one word to describe this album, it would be celebration. Scripture talks so often about creation praising God—rivers clap their hands and mountains sing. I wanted to bring that into the album using the sounds God created—wind, thunder, rain, waves and birds. This record is full of sounds that celebrate who God is. Not just in lyrics, but in how it feels. My hope is the whole record brings joy and life–lifting people up in their spirit.”
America’s worship leader will kick off his unique Worship Under The Stars concert series in New York City’s Central Park tonight (Fri, July 11th) and at Pier Six Pavilion in Baltimore tomorrow (Sat, July 12th). Tomlin will wrap the series at the famed Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater in Colorado on October 21st, a venue he has sold out multiple times before.
