Multiple videos are available of the incident in Nashville

Videos surrounding the arrest of Chris Young have been released. We have obtained four videos that show exactly what happened when Young was taken into custody on January 22nd after a confrontation with Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) officers in a Midtown bar in Nashville. All four videos are below.

One video shows Young falling over a table and chairs after being shoved by a TABC agent. The 38-year-old singer is seen reaching out to an agent, who reacted by shoving Young hard enough for him to lose his balance and fall backward. Young regained his stance and put his hands in the air while backing away.

Videos obtained by People contain audio of the incident in which one picks up with an officer telling Young he committed an assault on an officer and advising another bar patron to step back. The patron accuses the officer of shoving Young to the ground with the officer responding, “Me? Look at your video…” before it cuts off.

A third clip shows Young standing confused as the group of patrons says the arrest is not legal. Officers then tell the “Raised on Country” singer to “Put your hands behind your back” as they handcuff him. The group Young was with questions the officers with one telling Young, “You didn’t touch him.”

According to the arrest affidavit, agents were completing an identification check around 8:30 pm at the Tin Roof on Demonbreun Street when Young was sitting at a bar with his ID over his head. The report claims that Young followed the agents after being cleared and began asking questions before recording them. After the officers completed their investigation, they went next door to DawgHouse to do the same when a group of people, including Young, followed. Young began talking to the bartender and patrons but confronted officers and prevented them from leaving the establishment.

The arrest report claims that “Mr. Young put his hands out to stop me from leaving the bar and struck me on the shoulder,” before admitting to pushing Young to “create distance since I had no idea of who Mr. Young was or what he had.”

People reports that Young was charged and released on bonds of $250 for disorderly conduct, $1,000 for resisting arrest, and $1,250 for the assault. His court date is set for February 16th.

While Chris Young is unable to directly comment at this time, below is a statement from his attorney, Bill Ramsey, demanding that charges be dropped and Young issued an apology.

“What happened to my client Chris Young at a bar in Nashville on Monday night was wrong and he never should have been arrested and charged in the first place. In light of the video evidence, Tennessee ABC needs to drop the charges and apologize for the physical, emotional and professional harm done towards my client,” Ramsey says.
