New series CMT Summer Sessions premieres July 7th
CMT has unveiled its upcoming 2023 summer programming slate with a packed lineup of new and returning music specials. The slate kicks off with CMT’s flagship show CMT Hot 20 airing a live primetime broadcast of Let Freedom Sing!, with a set from superstar Brad Paisley and Nashville’s signature fireworks display on Tuesday, July 4th at 10 pm ET. Later that week, CMT’s newest greenlit summertime concert series, CMT Summer Sessions, kicks off with the legendary Tanya Tucker on Friday, July 7th at 9 pm ET/PT, with weekly episodes featuring a star-packed lineup of country hitmakers airing every Friday throughout August. Additionally, fan-favorite series CMT Summer Camp returns later this summer with headliner Tyler Hubbard on Friday, August 11th at 10 pm ET/PT and flagship weekly series CMT Hot 20 Countdown continues with all-new star-studded specials celebrating its 10th anniversary milestone and an on-the-road episode with Luke Bryan.
Broadcasting live from downtown Nashville, CMT Hot 20 Countdown goes primetime as global country music star Brad Paisley headlines this 30-minute concert special, immediately followed by a commercial-free presentation of one of the largest fireworks displays in the country, the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp’s (NCVC) live Fourth of July fireworks display, accompanied by the Nashville Symphony. CMT’s Cody Alan hosts.
A fun, fresh warm-weather series delivering the perfect summertime soundtrack, CMT Summer Sessions features a star-packed lineup of country’s hottest stars as they share new music and some of their biggest hits lakeside at Southall in Franklin, TN. The eight episode series also includes two special themed episodes — “Summer Jams” hosted by Breland, and “90s Country” hosted by Lee Brice. Lineup includes Tanya Tucker, Chris Janson, Breland, Ashley McBryde, Jordan Davis, and Brice.
CMT’s longest-running, flagship series continues its 10-year anniversary celebration with a landmark episode co-hosted by Cody Alan, Katie Cook and Carissa Culiner, with special appearances from superstars Blake Shelton, Dan + Shay, Scotty McCreery and many more – plus a new countdown.
CMT treats fans to the ultimate concert experience with the return of CMT Summer Camp, an exclusive one-hour special with Tyler Hubbard shot from the Sandy Creek Barn Amphitheater at Reynolds Lake Oconee in Greensboro, GA. The EMI Records Nashville recording artist will perform songs from his debut solo album, Tyler Hubbard, for a night filled with good music and summertime fun – fireworks included.
