Tribute will air during 2022 CMT Artists of the Year
CMT is honoring Loretta Lynn at the 2022 CMT Artists of the Year celebration tonight (Fri, Oct 14th) at 9 pm ET/PT on CMT. The 90-minute ceremony will a heartfelt tribute to late country legend from sisters Crystal Gayle and Peggy Sue Wright, presented by Tanya Tucker and Martina McBride.
The 2022 CMT Artists of the Year celebration is set to honor Carly Pearce, Cody Johnson Kane Brown, Luke Combs and Walker Hayes as the five artists who have collectively dominated the past 12 months in country music; alongside “Breakout Artist of the Year” Lainey Wilson and “Artist of a Lifetime” Alan Jackson.
The ceremony, from Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center, will feature performances by Pearce, Johnson, Brown, Jackson, Wilson and Hayes, who has teamed with Ciara for a world premiere collaboration. Riley Green will honor Combs in a special tribute.
Notable names spanning the worlds of music, television, sports and entertainment tapped as presenters for the much-anticipated celebration include 8x Grammy winning singer-songwriter Chris Stapleton, multi-platinum duo Dan + Shay, multi-platinum chart-topping singer-songwriter Dustin Lynch, beloved Rascal Flatts vocalist Gary LeVox, multi-platinum singer-songwriter-producer and author Kelsea Ballerini, Yellowstone star Kelsey Asbille and Grammy-winning hit maker Shane McAnally, plus racing legend Dale Earnhardt, Jr. is set to make a remote presentation to Combs from his annual Dale Jr. Foundation charity event in North Carolina.
