The new project will be available November 3rd

Platinum recording artist and CMA Male Vocalist of the Year nominee Cody Johnson is set to release his third COJO Music/Warner Music Nashville studio album Leather on November 3rd. The 12-track album was produced by Trent Willmon.

“This round of songs, I have to say, is the best round of songs I have ever recorded and I feel like that’s the way it should be,” Johnson shares. “Each album should outdo the last one.”

To celebrate the announcement, the former rodeo star has released “Work Boots” written by Jason Afable, Brett Beavers, and Canaan Smith and “Watching My Old Flame Go Out” by Kat Higgins, Wynn Varble, and Clint Daniels.

Last month, Johnson released the album’s first single, “The Painter,” written by Benjy Davis, Kat Higgins and Ryan Larkins.

Leather is expected to be released in two parts with the first 12 tracks coming this fall, according to the country star.

Leather is the follow-up to Johnson’s 2019 Ain’t Nothin’ To It studio album and 2021’s Human The Double Album. Since that album debuted, Johnson’s career has skyrocketed bringing in 17 career RIAA certifications, a Pandora Billionaire Award and nearly five billion global streams. He released two additional projects, A Cody Johnson Christmas album and Cody Johnson & The Rockin’ CJB Live and an award-winning feature-length documentary Dear Rodeo: The Cody Johnson Story.

Johnson’s reputation as an electrifying performer continues to reign and has resulted in a long list of sold out shows on his headline tours and he’s been selected as a special supporting guest on multiple stadium concerts with Zac Brown Band and Luke Combs.
