Coldplay unveils ‘Moon Music’ track listing

The album will be released on October 4th

Coldplay has announced the tracklist for their highly-anticipated tenth album, Moon Music, which will land in stores and on streaming services on October 4th. A video of Chris Martin writing out the tracklist was shared on the band’s Instagram page.

The album’s second single “We Pray,” featuring Burna Boy, Little Simz, Elyanna, and Tini, will be released on Friday, August 23rd. The Tini Version of the track will then be released to digital outlets on September 6th, with the Elyanna Version available on September 20th.

Moon Music will be the world’s first album released as a 140-gram EcoRecord LP, with each copy made from nine recycled PET-plastic bottles recovered from post-consumer waste. This will prevent the manufacture of more than 25 metric tonnes of virgin plastic, and provide an 85% reduction in manufacturing process CO2 emissions/kg compared to traditional 140-gram vinyl.

Additionally, the band has collaborated with long-time partners The Ocean Cleanup to create an additional format: the Notebook Edition EcoRecord LP. The rPET for this edition comprises 70% river plastic, intercepted by The Ocean Cleanup from the Rio Las Vacas, Guatemala, and prevented from reaching the Gulf of Honduras and the Atlantic Ocean.

The CD editions will be the world’s first released on EcoCD, created from 90% recycled polycarbonate, sourced from post-consumer waste streams. This will provide at least a 78% CO2/kg emission reduction and avoids the manufacturing of more than five metric tonnes of virgin plastic.

To reduce waste, the first edition run of Moon Music (both EcoRecord LP and EcoCD) will be strictly limited and produced at a higher specification than any future editions. All First Edition EcoRecord LP products will be individually numbered.

The new song is the follow-up to June’s double MTV VMAs-nominated single “FeelsLikeI’mFallingInLove,” which topped iTunes charts around the world, and reached No. 1 on both the UK’s airplay chart and the Official Big Top 40.

Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour, which began in March 2022 and has so far sold more than nine million tickets, resumes at Munich’s Olympiastadion tonight (Wed, Aug 14th). In June, the band revealed that the tour has so far produced 59% less CO2e emissions than their previous stadium tour in 2016/17, exceeding their original target of a 50% reduction. They also revealed that nine million trees have already been planted, one for each ticket sold.
