“Roots” and “BOS” are available now
Rising country artist Cooper Alan releases two new songs, “Roots” and “BOS,” off his forthcoming debut album, Winston-Salem, due November 7th.
“Roots” is a classic 90s-style country track – southern to its core and steeped in the kind of heartfelt storytelling that defines American country music. It’s nostalgic, honest, and feels like it could have come straight off a jukebox in a small-town bar, whereas “BOS” channels the energy of Alan’s live shows. “BOS” is a high-octane blend of ‘50s rock and roll swagger and country grit. It’s playful and danceable, the kind of song that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a Grease-style sock hop with a southern twist.
The two-pack of songs hone in on the messaging of the album and offer fans a glimpse into the foundation of Alan’s debut record, with Winston reflecting on family, fatherhood, and personal roots, while Salem turns up the volume with rowdy, feel-good tracks that Alan is known for.
“BOS” and “Roots” arrive on the heels of Alan’s most recent tracks, “Hard Acre,” “Holy Ghost,” “Dale Dickens (RIP),” and “Plead The Fifth,” which were released earlier this year. Each track continues to reveal new layers of his evolving sound and storytelling. Together, they set a strong foundation for Cooper as he enters the biggest chapter of his artistry to date, one marked by deeper introspection, bolder production, and the captivating charisma he is known for.
Amid a breakthrough year, Alan is riding the momentum with an impressive string of headlining shows, including his Canadian leg, which just wrapped. Earlier in the year, he completed his headlining To The Bar Tour, selling out most dates and solidifying his status as one of the most exciting rising stars in music. In addition to the tour, Alan launched his foundation, The Cooper Alan Foundation, earlier this year, which supports mental health organizations and causes.
