Dalton Davis drops ‘Cows in the Front Yard,’ signs with MCA/Republic Records

The song is the first with a major label

North Carolina native Dalton Davis releases his latest single, “Cows In The Front Yard.” It’s the kind of gritty, honest, and undeniably catchy track that proves the new generation of country music is ready to get loud. In addition to the single release, Davis has announced his signing to MCA/Republic Records with more new music coming soon.

“This record deal isn’t the finish line — it’s the starting gun. Every song I’ve written up to now and every show I’ve played was just qualifying for the race, and signing with MCA/Republic means I finally get to run,” says Davis. “Signing with MCA/Republic was a big move, but one I couldn’t be more grateful to be making. With two legendary labels in my corner and ‘Cows In The Front Yard’ ready to roll, the cowboy comes up starts here.”

From the dirt roads of Gastonia, NC, comes a sound that defies every clean-cut expectation. Davis’s story is a one-of-a-kind tapestry of America: raised with rural roots, adopted by touring gospel artists, and later honing his recording chops under the mentorship of hard-hitting hip-hop engineers. This kaleidoscopic upbringing has culminated in a signature sound that fuses outlaw edge with undeniable soul.

Before the announcement, Davis previously released the tracks “Sit Crooked,” “So Far So Good,” and “Blue Ridge Sky” independently.
