Breakout singer-songwriter Dixie D’Amelio has released the music video for her next single “Someone to Blame.” The track is off her debut album, A Letter To Me, which was released on June 10th. The “Someone to Blame” music video broadcast premiered on MTV Live, MTVU, MTV Biggest Pop and on the Paramount Times Square billboards in NYC.

D’Amelio worked in partnership with Lightricks, a growing creator platform with several top mobile video and photo editing apps, to produce the video. D’Amelio, the HITCO recording artist with over 650 million streams to date, engaged with fans to incorporate their creative work into her official “Someone to Blame.” Fans were invited to remake one of her several templates created in Videoleap by Lightricks. More than 100,000 fans remixed templates, adding their personal video content to the clip for consideration to be included in the final video. D’Amelio reposted some of these TikTok duets and IG stories to showcase some of the creative fan work.

When creating the music video, several sections were created specifically for fan content selected from the campaign. Fans and their creative content can be seen throughout the music video, where D’Amelio is watching different scenes or reflections in a mirror.

D’Amelio’s album also showcased her development musically, featuring new stylistic musical choices and more vocal range than ever – capturing her progression from one of the biggest social media stars to a serious recording artist and singer-songwriter. D’Amelio most recently concluded her run as opening act on Big Time Rush’s Summer Tour, which included a sold out show at Madison Square Garden in NY.
