The rapper is locking up the studio for some time

Drake’s newly released For All The Dogs may be the last project fans hear for a while. The rapper says he’s planning to take a break from music to focus on his health and other projects.

“I probably won’t make music for a little bit. I’m gonna be honest. I might, I got some other things I need to do for some other people that I made promises to, but I probably won’t make music for a little bit. I’m gonna be real with you. I need to focus on my health first and foremost, and I’ll talk about that soon enough,” the rapper shares on his Table For One on SiriusXM’s Sound 42. “Nothing crazy, but just like, you know, I want people to be healthy in life, and I’ve been having the craziest problems for years with my stomach. I was just saying what it is now. I’m saying I was gonna say it. I’ll say it. So I, I need to focus on, on my health and I need to get right. And I’m gonna do that… I have a lot of other things that, I would love to focus on. So I’m gonna lock the door in the studio for a little bit. I don’t even know what a little bit is. Maybe, maybe a year or something, or maybe a little longer.”

Initially scheduled to come out last summer, For All The Dogs marks Drake’s first full-length project since 2022’s Her Loss, his collaboration with 21 Savage. The rap legend shared he postponed the original release in order to finish his It’s All a Blue Tour.

“I’m very very proud, and very very grateful that any of you all are still interested in even listening to what the boy’s go to say, and I hope that we’ll find common ground. Once again I do think you’re going to really enjoy this. I think I did my fucking job. If I do say so myself,” Drake says about his new album.

Drake concludes his It’s All A Blur Tour this weekend in his hometown of Toronto.
