With the first anniversary of their Danse Macabre album approaching, Duran Duran has announced Danse Macabre – De Luxe, a revamped version of the original, set for digital release on October 11th and on CD on October 25th via Tape Modern/BMG.
Danse Macabre – De Luxe features three new tracks, including an instrumental entitled “Masque of the Pink Death,” a cover of ELO’s “Evil Woman” and, out now, “New Moon (Dark Phase),” featuring Andy Taylor. “New Moon (Dark Phase)” is a reimagined version of their classic song “New Moon On Monday” from their album Seven and The Ragged Tiger.
Just in time for Halloween, Danse Macabre – De Luxe also features the original collection of 13 songs, including haunting covers of Billie Eilish’s “Bury A Friend,” Talking Heads’ “Psycho Killer” featuring Victoria De Angelis, The Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black,” and The Specials’ “Ghost Town,” plus new versions of Duran Duran classics from their catalog. Guest artists include producer, guitarist, and composer Nile Rodgers, Victoria De Angelis of Måneskin, and former Duran Duran band members Andy Taylor and Warren Cuccurullo. Exquisitely packaged, the record features images adapted from a collection of authentic vintage séance photos that band member Nick Rhodes sourced at auction.
Also announced, is a limited edition vinyl box set, which includes 3 LPs comprising the original 13-track 2 LP Danse Macabre release and a bonus LP featuring seven new tracks, four of which are not available in any other format. The Halloween-inspired box includes a spirit board, metal planchette, bespoke tarot cards, four art prints, and a booklet. The Danse Macabre – De Luxe box will be available globally at direct-to-consumers on October 25th, and available in select US retailers on November 29th.
On October 31st, Duran Duran is set to summon all Halloween enthusiasts to show up, dress up, and celebrate All Hallows’ Eve in style at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City. Now a highly anticipated annual tradition, The Danse Macabre Halloween Party was originally conceptualized at a fabled Halloween Duran Duran gig for the ages in 2022 and is now immortalized across 13 songs on their 16th studio album, Danse Macabre.
Duran Duran has also announced a short North American east-coast run, set to take place this fall, bringing the legendary, award-winning four-piece to Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Maryland, and New Hampshire.
