Member Chris Leuzinger takes us on a guided tour of the museum

The Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville, Tennessee was started by the late Joe Chambers in 2006. Since its inception almost two decades ago, the Hall of Fame has honored the best players in the business who have contributed greatly to iconic sounds throughout generations.

The Music Universe was honored to explore the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum during the 2023 CMA Fest with Hall of Fame member Chris Leuzinger. Leuzinger is a 2016 inductee into the Hall of Fame as a member of the G-Men. The G-Men are the players who have backed Garth Brooks on all of his studio records from 1989 to the present. Leuzinger, an other-worldly guitar player, has created memorable riffs for all of Brooks’ studio albums. Whether it was the bridge on “That Summer” or the electric aggression on “Papa Loved Mama,” Leuzinger has had a hand in creating the “Garth Sound.”

Leuzinger toured around the museum with host Matt Bailey, giving stories behind artifacts and discussing his own career along the way. Leuzinger’s deep appreciation for the late Joe Chambers and his surviving widow, now-CEO Linda Chambers, is immediately apparent. It is clear the Musicians Hall of Fame means a lot to Leuzinger. As someone who never sought the footlights of fame, Leuzinger understands what it means to be recognized as a “guy behind the guy,” and has worked to keep the museum in the forefront of the mind of the Nashville music industry.

We invite you to enjoy this tour through the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum and journey back through some of recorded music’s most important moments and artifacts.

Check out our longer interview with Chris Leuzinger tomorrow (Fri, Sept 1st) as part of The Music Universe Podcast.
