The cast begins performances across the pond next month
There are no plans for an American leg of the Nashville in Concert Farewell Tour, TMU has exclusively learned.
A rep for the Opry Entertainment, which co-produces the CMT series, said that the only planned American date is March 25th in Nashville, TN at the Grand Ole Opry house. Cast mates Clare Bowen, Sam Palladio, Chris Carmack, Jonathan Jackson, and Charles Esten will tour the UK and Ireland this April.
But all is not lost for Nashies hoping to see their favorite stars one last time. Even though concerts have not been announced, it is still possible plans will be forthcoming. Last year, the American leg was announced during the overseas dates. And, Bowen will also appear on select dates of Sugarland’s Still the Same Tour this summer.
It has become tradition for some configuration of the Nashville cast to tour in support of the show. Always on the “bubble,” the concerts served two purposes: allow fans to meet their favorite stars and demonstrate to network suits the strength of the show’s fan base. A concert DVD capturing the energy of these live shows is coming on April 27th.
Nashville is coming to an end on CMT after two seasons. Viacom’s country-centered channel picked up the television show in response to social media outcry. ABC cancelled the show after four seasons and ended it on a cliffhanger. This led to super fans to take to Twitter and ultimately saving the show at the last minute. A filmic, slower-paced, and more daring Nashville returned to the airwaves in January of 2017.
Now in its sixth season, CMT has split the show up into two halves: A winter and summer half. The second, eight-episode half of the final season begins airing on June 7th. Nashville will air its series finale on July 26th.
