Foreigner to film 50th anniversary concert

The once-in-a-lifetime performance will be held on Ellis Island

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members Foreigner will mark their monumental 50th anniversary with a landmark performance at Ellis Island, New York, on September 6th, filmed on a closed set for a major documentary due to release in 2026, produced by Vertigo Live Productions.

Known for their explosive live shows and era-defining anthems, the classic rockers have sold over 80 million albums worldwide, cementing their place as one of the greatest rock bands of all time. Their catalogue includes timeless hits like “Hot Blooded,” “Juke Box Hero,” “Waiting For A Girl Like You,” “Cold As Ice,” “Urgent,” “Feels Like The First Time,” and the global No. 1 hit, “I Want To Know What Love Is.”

These songs and more will come to life again in an intimate, cinematic performance that includes original lead singer Lou Gramm and surprise guests, all in the shadow of the Statue of Liberty.

Filmed where the story of modern America began, this concert places one of rock’s most iconic bands at the gateway to the American Dream — with the Statue of Liberty as a symbolic and cinematic backdrop.

This is not just a concert – it’s a filmed production on a closed set, captured for global release. Attendees will appear in the finished film. Mobile devices will be sealed during filming. Waivers will be required.

Ten pairs of tickets are being given away on Instagram and Facebook.

Foreigner’s fourth studio album, known as Foreigner 4, is set to be reissued in a Super Deluxe Edition format on September 12th via Rhino Records. Ahead of the album’s 45th anniversary in 2026, 4 will be reissued as a 5-CD/Blu-ray box set and a single vinyl edition with newly remastered audio.

This fall, the classic band will team with original singer Lou Gramm for the Foreigner 4 Deluxe Tour. The tour also marks a new chapter for the band, introducing Luis Maldonado in his first major U.S. appearances as Foreigner’s lead vocalist.

The group will headline ten orchestral concerts in 2026 with a 20-piece orchestra playing spectacular arrangements written by Juilliard cello virtuoso Dave Eggar and conductor Chuck Palmer. Eggar has performed, recorded and arranged for artists that include Coldplay, Paul Simon, Amy Winehouse, Beyonce and many more. The shows include five dates in Las Vegas and five in Northern California in March.
