The group starts the run again next week
Fresh from the triumphant run of concert dates in Australia and New Zealand, ZZ Top are set to embark on the next leg of their ongoing Elevation Tour. For this run of North American dates, starting June 1st in Victoria, British Columbia, the band is delighted to announce that drummer Frank Bead who had been sidelined for the last few months is rejoining the lineup. The band’s management revealed that the foot and ankle issues that he had been dealing with have been resolved and he’s now set to see the tour through to its completion in October.
“We’re happy that Frank is back with (bassist) Elwood (Francis) and yours truly, BFG. We missed him and are looking forward to turning it up and rocking out with him as has been the case for the last few hundred or so decades. His complete recovery is cause for celebration and that’s just what we intend to do on an open-ended basis. Welcome back, pardner!” shares Billy Gibbons.

Support acts who will share the bill with ZZ Top on the tour dates include Night Ranger, Payton Smith, Black Stone Cherry, and The Wallflowers. ZZ Top has been at it for well over a half century delivering rock, blues and boogie on stage and in studio to millions of devoted fans. With iconography as distinctive as their sound, ZZ Top is globally recognized with their beards, hotrod cars, spinning guitars and that magic keychain, all of which transcend geography and language.
As a touring outfit, they’ve been without peer over the past five decades, having performed before millions of fans over four continents and have been the subject of their own Grammy-nominated documentary titled That Little Ol’ Band From Texas.
They have sold millions of records over the course of their career, have been officially designated as Heroes of The State of Texas, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (by Keith Richards, no less) and have been referenced in countless cartoons and sitcoms. They are true rock icons and, against all odds, they’re really just doing what they’ve always done. ZZ Top abides!
