Garth Brooks announces new single, tour opener

Brooks is releasing new music and launching a tour later this year

New Garth Brooks music is coming and it’s coming fast. The singer has announced that “All Day Long” is the title of his new single that hits country radio on Tuesday (June 19th). The song was teased during a CMA Fest Q&A with Storme Warren last week in which Brooks described it to be a “good damn honky tonk song” in the vein of “Two Of A Kind (Workin’ On A Full House)” meeting “Ain’t Goin’ Down (‘Til The Sun Comes Up)” and “Callin’ Baton Rouge.”

Co-written by Brooks, the infectious track evokes signature Brooks sing-a-longs, tailor-made for his ground-breaking live show and follows the momentum of his recent No. One “Ask Me How I Know.”

“Country music with a fiddle? You bet your ass! It’s coming tomorrow,” Brooks laughs after confirming the title on his Facebook Live series, Inside Studio G, earlier today (Mon, June 18th).

Brooks also confirmed the opening song of the new tour will be “The Road I’m On” which he co-wrote with Randall King. Brooks first mentioned the track during an interview for Bobby Bones’ podcast that went live on Friday, June 15th.

“It’s just one of those songs that’s just all about appreciation and describes the tour really really well,” Brooks tells Bones of the track.

Fans who pre-order Brooks’ upcoming-yet-untitled album via Amazon for $10 will get both songs digitally at the discounted price. The album is set to be released next year.

Brooks also explained to Bones how the Fan Mix of his second live album, Triple Live, will work when it comes out sometime this fall.

“We’re gonna try this new thing, it’s called a Fan Mix. It’s stereo left, stereo right which is kinda impossible, but you start to blend them. If you want to hear mostly the band, just stand to the left for more drive. If you want to hear mostly the crowd, lean to the right or sit in the right,” he explains. “It’s just a special Fan Mix for just a limited number of these Triple Live things, but it allows the crowd to get to hear their part of it like I get to hear it from stage. Remember, all of my stuff’s going away from me. All your stuff is coming at me, so you get to hear it the way I get to hear it every night and you’ll know why I’m so excited.”

Triple Live will feature songs from shows from the past three years including Nashville, Tacoma, Baton Rouge and more. No release date has been given as of press time, but Brooks confirms both new songs will be included on a reissue of Triple Live next year.

During Studio G, Brooks also mentioned another project he’s excited about called “The Diamond Series.” He says little details can be discussed as it’s in its infancy, but confirms it will feature songs from the “House Cleaning” portion of his last three year North American tour. It gets to show how the song was originally recorded, performed live in concert and in intimate settings, Brooks states. He says “The Diamond Series” will be discussed more on next week’s live broadcast.

Brooks also discussed a new email list that will give fans exclusive content, discounts and first dibs on things before anyone else. He’s asking for fans to submit Ask Garth questions to get input on what fans want to see.
