New set to feature a collaboration album

Garth Brooks has a lot of new music in the pipeline. Earlier this month, the country superstar announced the third edition of The Limited Series box set with Bass Pro Shops coming this fall that features an album of all new material. He now confirms additional projects are on the horizon, including a second box set that’s likely to coincide with the 18 sold out dates for his Garth Brooks/Plus One Vegas residency at Caesars Palace in 2024.

“Try to know that we also have a second Vegas box coming out. Kinda like more of a covers box, but it’s got the collaborations record in there,” Brooks teases on his Inside Studio G Facebook Live series. “We’re not gonna call it the Duets record because the duets record is still coming. But the collaboration record is gonna be fun. There’s a lot of new music coming this fall.”

No release date was given with further details expected closer to its release. Last year, he released Live Live which is being offered at shops throughout Caesars properties in Las Vegas and online. The package included a 92-page custom book with live photos and five discs filled with over 50 of Brooks’ most beloved live recordings, as well as newly released recordings, with three new randomly inserted covers to Double Live.

The newly announced Vegas set will be Brooks’ second covers-focused box following the release of Blame It All On My Roots, released exclusively through Walmart in 2014. That box featured four albums of cover songs categorized by genre — ranging from classic country to classic rock to R&B and everything in-between — his own The Ultimate Hits on two CDs, a DVD of music videos, and a performance captured during his One Man Show Las Vegas residency that ran at the Wynn Encore Theatre between 2009-2013.

This fall, Brooks is also planning to continue his Anthology book/CD set with the fourth volume. While not confirmed, this edition will likely focus on his retirement that began in 2001 that largely lasted until his highly successful comeback tour in 2014. The fifth volume is currently in production with co-author Warren Zanes and is expected to include details of partnership with Amazon. Volume six will focus on The Stadium Tour that spanned 2019-2022.

Brooks also shares that additional live music is expected in the next two to three years with Killer Live. He says it’ll take that long to assemble because the project is “too massive to put together quickly.”

Elsewhere in the episode, the country star also updated fans on his Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk on Nashville’s Lower Broadway. “There’s not a floor here you’re gonna wanna miss. It’s fun,” he says. “I’m not sure which is my favorite. It’s so good, man. The first floor is just bring your helmet — that’s gonna be crazy. The second floor gives you a little break from it but it’s right in your face. The third floor is just gonna be Trisha Yearwood classy cool. It just is. That’s where all the best food is, but the fourth floor – The Oasis up on top – that’s gonna be where the party’s at.”

An opening date for the multi-level entertainment complex still has not yet been announced.
