Garth Brooks is planning to release his catalog on vinyl in 2019. The country superstar made the announcement during his Facebook Live Inside Studio G series — the final one of 2018 — today (Mon, Dec 17th). While the singer didn’t elaborate on when or which titles will drop, he did tease that it will be available “like nothing you’ve seen before.”

“I guess we can say it in one word. 2019! Get ready for this: vinyl!” he tells his Facebook Live viewers. “You guys have been telling me for a hundred years — vinyl — but try to knock out everything you think vinyl is. It’s coming in a way I’ve never seen before. It’s so frickin’ cool. It’s gonna be good. It’s gonna be a lot of fun. We’ll take care of everybody, too. So get ready for vinyl, but get ready for it in a lot of different ways like you’ve never seen before. ‘Cause remember, we were lucky enough to get to record in analog, and we’re lucky enough to be in the digital world as well. So this will be something like nobody else has, which you guys should have it. You guys should have a chance to get it if you want it is what I’m trying to say.”

Brooks released his first several albums on vinyl before they started becoming obsolete in the mid 90’s. However, the format has made a resurgence in the past decade with 180-gram quality vinyl and Record Store Day releases twice per year.

Next year marks Brooks 30th anniversary as a recording artist. During that time, he has released ten studio albums, two live albums, four compilations, three Christmas collections and a pop/rock album. More details will be revealed as they become available.
